My favorite swedes are masters in creating atmospheres, having superb quality in their production and still having very danceable grooves. This one is from their superb Lungs of Life album from early 2009 released on Tribal Vision label: http://www.discogs.com/Vibrasphere-Lungs-Of-Life/release/1572241
First single from BT’s forthcoming new album on Black Hole. This has been getting mixed reviews but personally I love it! Cool production, solid groove and great atmosphere. Sure it’s not new Flaming June but when BT opened his set in Helsinki in April the whole room was very much feeling it. I think also that there is also another longer mix from BT himself. He played me some other tracks from the album and there’s some SICK material on it. Very futuristic stuff indeed!
This is another great cross genre track from Dusty Kid. I’ve seen house, progressive, techno and trance DJs all play it and it fits many kind of sets. Very summery, groovy and hypnotic. Works equally well at home as at club as warm up sound. And the riff sound reminds me of techno classic Knights of the Jaguar in a nice way. Bulding the vibe towards some more summery and housey sounds..
Couple pure house tracks here with a superb summery vibe. First one is a solo remix from Way Out West’s Jody Wisternoff here remixing swedish up-and-coming name Dana Bergquist. One of this summer’s hot prog tracks already hammered by the likes of Nick Warren and featuring vocal hook from Black Boxes ‘Ride On Time’. Definitely one for the outdoor summer events!
This is so far my this summer’s favorite melodic house track. Chris Lake seems to deliver every year a huge bomb and 2009 is no exception:) Lake was just last weekend here in Helsinki headlining top finnish house club Danceteria’s 4th anniversary and played a great party set mixing more poppy house sounds with booming techno. Love the hunting vibe in this one coming from the building chords. And production partner LYS is to me most well known for the amazing remix of Flash Brothers’ ‘Amen’ from couple years back. This is S.U.M.M.E.R!
More summery house sounds here. I guess this would be labeled as electro house or indie dance but I wanted to include it because it’s one of my current favorites and IMO suits Radio Unity sets because of the uplifting melodic parts of the track. Interestingly only less than five minutes in it’s length too! I love the 80s vibe and the synth solos at the end. Pure feel good stuff with no purist attitude.
Another track from The Man BT this time one of his classics remixed by Orjan Nielsen. I love the vocal and there are some great mixes of this before too. I think Orjan does a nice job in doing a mix which is very much big room trance sound of 2009. One for the big events and big rooms.
This is an odd one for sure. Spotted in Marco V’s Top Ten June mix and also in his recent set here in Helsinki. I liked Robert M’s previous ‘Muzzak’ single and this one continues nicely on the same unique sound. Very old school based with an early 90s synth riff and italo-influenced (!) drum programming. This is also something that could work in many different kind of sets and events. Tom toms are back!
A very very exclusive remix of this Way Out West track by my favorite finnish (and why not global?) trance producer Allende. He really has his sound together with great balance between the driving rhythm and very emotional melodic parts. The original WOW track is very nice listening piece but really hard to play in live sets so this mix definitely serves it’s purpose. And another (even better?) Allende remix coming up next…
Salt Tank’s another classic ‘Leaving Town’ has been re-done and will be released soonish. Here is Allende’s remix of it which IMO is maybe his best track so far. The original (remix) is over 10 mins long so we’re hearing only some 6-7 minutes of it here. This is what I call TRANCE. And works very well at club. Supported already at least by Ferry Corsten who played it at some outdoor event just recently. In my current Top 10 for sure.
